PARENT POLICY

  • From school age, parents are not permitted in the hall to watch. This is because the kids get more easily distracted when parents are in the room. There are opportunities throughout the year where parents are invited in to see their child's progress.
  • We take Child Protection very seriously. All of our Dance Educators & Coaches are required to have a current WWCC, and sign a Code of Conduct.
  • No refunds or credits will be given for loss of interest as we do offer trials and drop in classes. We can credit the remainder of your fees for the following term if there is an injury, or major illness, provided a doctors certificate is produced.
  • Once enrolled in a class, you are expected to pay for the whole term within two weeks of commencement of the term. If your child decides to stop dancing, you are still required to pay.
  • Terms two, three & four roll over automatically. If you decide to cease your current class for the following term, you are expected to inform us so we can allow other children to take the position in the class. Failure to do this will result in you having to pay for the whole term. This is because we have many children on waitlists who will otherwise miss out.
  • If your child misses a class you are welcome to attend two make up classes throughout the current term. Make up classes will not roll over into the next term. If you are going to be away for more than two weeks, you will need to pay for the full term, or unregister in that class and enrol upon your return. You may risk losing your place if you do this.
  • We do allow parents to sit in for all toddler and some pre-school classes, we ask that the parent remain quiet and refrain from using mobile phones. Again this adds extra distraction to the kids and their teachers.
  • We encourage the kids to bring their own water bottle in for class. Food is not necessary unless doing back to back classes, in which case kids can bring their food in a lunchbox and eat it quickly in between classes. We don’t allow children to eat during class as it is a choking hazard.
  • We as parents love filming our kids and their milestones, but I would ask that it is kept to a minimum during class. This is out of respect to other kids whose parents may not be as keen for you to film their child, but also as it is again very distracting for both teacher and child.
  • We ask that kids be picked up promptly after class, We understand that there may be times when you are late, so just ask your child to wait inside the hall at all times. There is no supervision outside the hall.
  • Kids are required to wear the appropriate attire for classes, info is listed in the What To Wear page.
  • Throughout the year we take photo’s and videos of some classes to upload onto our website, Instagram, youtube page or on some occasion the ElectricDNA Facebook & Instagram page. No child's name will be mentioned but please inform us ASAP if you don’t want your child’s image to appear in any of the above.
  • At ElectricDNA we have two concerts, a mid-year which is a relaxed, low-key affair with no costumes, and an end of year, which has costumes, and is a much bigger event– Our concerts are about having fun, and showing parents, grandparents and friends, the skills that the kids have learnt throughout the year. The kids are not required to wear make-up, hairspray, or elaborate costumes. All costumes are $35 - $60 (INCL GST) to buy. These will be added to your invoice for term 3 & 4
  • Yes we do accept NSW Creative & Active Kids Vouchers - We redeem your vouchers once sent to us through our website. We then update your invoice, and email it back. Please note that if you pay before the voucher is redeemed, we do not refund. A credit will sit on your account until the end of that year. These vouchers need to be redeemed manually and are very time consuming, please expect to wait up to one week for your updated invoiced to be emailed back.
  • Children are expected to be respectful towards other children, and to their teachers in the class . We will not tolerate  disrespectful and/or anti-social behaviour.
  • The common denominator with the all the classes is respect, and it's something the kids always rise to. Whether in a studio or on a stage, the kids know that the more respectfully they watch and listen, the more likely they'll be given the same attention when it's their turn.
